Announcing our new logo!

Today we’re launching a new logo, as we wanted it to match better with our brand name "Magic Author".

Earlier we got a couple of feedback from our readers that the current pencil' logo doesn't look that unique. And so we had plans to evolve it but kept postponing the same due to various reasons.

Later we got in touch with Arul from "Bala Designs", Coimbatore to collaborate for this redesign work. It is worth mentioning that Arul who has about 20 years of experience in creating brand and design solutions, is also a book lover and an ardent follower of the veteran Tamil novelist Balakumaran (late) such that he named his company, his house and even his daughter after him. After some brainstorming and a couple of to-and-fro emails with such a passionate designer, here is the outcome.

Our new logo reflects a more modern outlook showcasing the two important possessions of an author - a pen and a book. A closer view also reveals the letter 'M' which stands for 'Magic' created by author's writings.

We chose a striking color reddish-orange, which represents excitement, creativity, freedom, optimism and fun.

With a strategic approach, we are also glad to introduce our new tag line:

Digital publishing made quick and easy

This tagline creates a clear picture of our vision and mission and to highlight the intention of making life easy for authors community around the world.

With this, we aim to present ourselves better and cater to you with better services in times to come.

In the upcoming weeks, we will update all our online assets with the new logo.

A new logo is a new beginning

We hope you like this new look and feel for Magic Author. Let us know your thoughts.

I'm sure all of us remember the stories from our childhood like "The hare and the tortoise" or "The thirsty crow". But can you recall science concepts that we learnt during our school days, like the Archimedes principle or the Newton's second law of motion? It's difficult, isn't it? But, What if I tell you there is an easy way to remember the scientific concepts, in the form of stories. It is exactly what Rajshree Bandodkar Karapurkar, a science populariser from Goa has been doing all these years. She has authored around 6 books so far and one of them "Chitkulya Chinkichen Vishal Vishwa" had bagged Sahitya Academy award. She had also made a couple of animation films, and one of them, Bondla Zoo had came under Top 10 among 400 entries in the International Film festival in 2010. Here are a few excerpts from her interview. ================================================ Saptha :  It’s interesting to know about teaching science in the form o...

Hagia Sophia

Istanbul is a secret city where Asia meets Europe. Inside the city, there is its special place, which is  Hagia Sophia , which means Wisdom. This magnificent construction graced the city's surface for some 1,500 years. Hagia Sophia in Istanbul Hagia Sophia is a religious building in Istanbul, Turkey, considered one of the most important architectural sites from the Eastern Roman Empire, also known as Byzantine. It is a very- popular building for a large dome and for having remains. The building served as an Orthodox Christian church until 1453. In 1453, it was transformed into a mosque when Istanbul- was added to the Ottoman Empire. In 1935, it was finally- turned into a museum, which continues to this day. One notable structure is the Hagia Sophia, or Church of Holy Wisdom. Like many modern Byzantine churches, the Hagia Sophia is organized in the center, with the dome serving as its focal point. a) Plan of the gallery (upper half; b) Plan of the ground floor (lower half). Should College Athletes Be Compensated?

With the final BCS Bowl between Florida State and Auburn taking center stage, it is interesting to note that most of the players will be playing professionally shortly. This will be the last BCS Championship as college football prepares to enter the new age with next year's College Football Playoffs. This will not only feature the National Competitor who won the trophy at the stadium through a series of elimination games but- will also donate millions of dollars to the vast NCAA fund. There is little doubt that the NCAA is in the business of making money through college games and college players. To earn money in a competitive environment, a university or college needs talented, dedicated, experienced staff, and a head coach who knows how to win. Trees high! For the last four weeks in college basketball, CBS charged $ 700,000 for 30-second advertising space. The gross network for men and women for the last four games is estimated at $ 6 billion annually. Sports conferences receiv...
